ABOUT US
Founded by four enterprising brothers in 1953, with a start-up capital of INR 8000 (Indian equivalent of $110) and one expeller oil mills in South Bombay, the Liberty Group has grown to become a large conglomerate with interests
spanning edible oils and consumer goods to warehousing and infrastructure; retail and real estate to commodity trading and agri-exports.
Operating out of a heritage building in South Mumbai, the Liberty Group consists of a diversified collection of businesses that are vital to the Indian economy. From providing India with essential everyday foodstuffs to generating eco-friendly renewable power, we strive to leave a positive footprint on the Indian and World economies by being responsible corporate

1994Received India’s first ever cargo of imported edible oil.
1995Large scale launch of branded goods.
1996Entered the logistics business.
1996Packaging division commissioned HDPE plant.
1998Launched ‘Sunday Sunflower Oil’
1998Acquired port based liquid storage terminal at Kandla.
1999Entered renewable energy business.
2002Expanded into non-oil consumer goods with the launch of Sunday Chakki Fresh Atta.
2016Commissioned corrugated boxes manufacturing plant
2017Expanded consumer goods portfolio with spices, ghee etc.
2017Commenced operations at Sunday Retail – group’s supermarket venture.
